Dear Mr Leon,
We feel obliged to point out the uncomfortable situation that has developed between engine and kart manufacturers and the CIK after the decisions taken by the Executive Committee which are in strong opposition with our requests and suggestions proposed in the interest of karting.
We, Engine and Kart manufacturers, express our total disagreement with the following decisions imposed by the CIK:
- imposition of the 4-Stroke engine in all CIK classes with the aggravation of the twin-cylinder option;
- the future exclusion of the 2-Stroke from CIK classes
- the introduction of the 4-Stroke World Formula with non homologated engines and chassis
- the introduction of the new North American Championship with the 4-Stroke World Formula;
- the lack of financial support and adequate TV coverage that had been promised the teams participating in the FSA World Championship.
- The introduction of an International Race Calendar without proper consideration for neither dates nor track locations;
- The non observance of the contract signed with Manufacturers regarding the World Championship Calendar (suppression of the race in Japan);
We also take the liberty to ask further questions:
- Why hasnít the promised Super Commission, which had to include manufacturersí representatives, ever worked?
- Why havenít Technical regulations and terms for the year-end homologation been set yet?
- Why havenít technical and sporting decisions been adopted which were against the Manufacturers opinions (introduction of the D.18 flange in the ICA Junior Class)?
- Why has the FSA World Championship been eliminated followed by the introduction of the FA World Cup?
The whole Kart World expects precise answers to these questions.
